My page has a quirky, half human – half bunny character that has been built out of a background of inky drips that were ‘crackled’ using that old cling film technique. Stamping was added on top and then gesso used to separate the bunny from the background. Some simple shading was added to the bunny to suggest form and make him pop out from the page whilst not losing all that funky background. I love that it shows through on his face and on the eggs, helping to unify the page. This is done by colouring with Neocolour Aquarelle crayons which have a semi transparent effect when wetted. A very relaxing process for a fun end page. This will end up as an Easter card to send fun messages to friends and family, surely a nice way of connecting as we come, hopefully, towards the end of ‘Covid’.
I’d love to know what quirky characters you come up with in your art journal pages.
Get your Easter cards now, either printed for you or downloads to print yourself.
Hugs, Ceri xx
