It’s lovely to see such a lot of common blues down by the estuary this year. This little fellow was speeding between all the bird’s foot trefoil flowers. The females’ colouration can be quite variable across the UK, while the males are all pretty recognisable and conspicuous. They are quite small butterflies and always a joy to spot.
