I love this quote; to me it means disconnect from everything and rest and then you will be able to start again refreshed. [br][br] I often tell my students that an art journal is a great place to try out ideas and even get new ones. That was the case with this page. Having made the page I thought it would work better as a gif which could show the before and after of being unplugged. My concept of a cat being plugged in by its tail could probably use some work but it was a fun idea so I went with it.
This post is about week 1 of my upcoming course "Art Journal Quotes" which will take place in Flint library, North Wales. The page is made around the quote: "Progress not Perfection". I think this is an important thing to keep in mind especially for people recovering from mental illness or dealing with it on a regular basis. It is also very relevant to artists who can often feel their work isn't good enough.
Sometimes it happens ... you can run out of enthusiasm for your usual way of creating. Then it's time to shake things up. Why not try a different style? I am doing this currently with a book I have by *** on Manga and have reimagined some of his art, picking up some Manga tips in the process.
