This is an impasto oil painting on a 60 cm square deep canvas with orange painted edges. It has been varnished with a uv protective varnish and has mirror plates and a wire on the back for hanging.
This dandelion oil painting is an expressive painting of 3 dandelions in full bloom. Mostly dandelions are considered as weeds but a few generations ago they were a regular fixture in the diet of British folk. They are a key ingredient in the ever popular dandelion and burdock drink to this day. In my opinion their cheerful faces brighten many a road’s verge.
My dandelion oil painting celebrates their effusive and robust nature and their ability to thrive where other plants struggle and all that despite constant persecution.
